Dhanush dedicates National Award to Rajni

South superstar Dhanush has bagged a National Award in the Best Actor Category for his Tamil film Aadukalam and the actor has dedicated this big award to his father-in-law Rajinikant.

Rajinikant is in ICU and suffering from pneumonia, Kidney and Liver problems. Dhanush has been taking time out to stay by his dad-in-law's side at the hospital. He said, "On behalf of all my fans and myself I dedicate this National Award to superstar (Rajinikant) and wish for his speedy recovery."
Dhanush received a lot of praises from critics after the release of Aadukalam. The actor later thanked his parents, brother Selva and wife Aishwarya.

Speaking about it he said, "My sincere thanks to the jury, my parents, my brother, my wife for everything. I thank director Vetrimaaran, Kalanidhi Maran sir, Tapasee, Velraj, and the entire crew for their part and support."
The actor is highly excited about the honour and also plans to throw a party for his crew, family and friends. He said, "I'm deeply touched and honored. Let the superstar return home, which should be soon. Then party!," he concluded.

18-year old boy in Deiva Thirumagan

 

much-acclaimed portrayal as a teenager in master romantic film maker Gautam Menon’s Vaaranam Aayiram? National award winning actor Vikram is also attempting a similar feat in his upcoming Tamil film Deiva Thirumagan, being directed by Madarasapattinam fame Vijay.

According to sources, Vikram has performed some scenes as an 18-year old boy in Deiva Thirumagan. Reportedly, the actor had a rigorous diet and workout to fit into the character of a young boy. Since the makers want to keep this as a surprise element, they have not yet released posters or stills revealing the actor�s teenage act. However, we already know that Vikram will appear as Muthu, a man suffering with a mental disorder, and his struggle to bring up his daughter is the basic storyline of the film.

Deiva Thirumagan features Anushka, Amala Paul and Santhanam in the key roles. Camera is by Nirav, music by G.V. Prakash, art by Selva and editing by Anthony. The movie is expected to hit screens in June 2011.

Vikram’s friend

 

If there is an actor in the industry whom National Award-winning actor Chiyaan Vikram is envious of, it’s none other than the versatile comedian M.S. Bhaskar.

Both started their career as dubbing artistes. Now, after their long years of friendship, Bhaskar is sharing screen space with Vikram for the first time in an important role in his upcoming flick Deiva Thirumagan.

“Each time I would go with an idea to director Vijay, Bhaskar would spring a surprise and he’d come up with an innovative look much ahead of me,” remarked Vikram recently.

Having dubbed for more than a thousand films, Bhaskar says he draws inspiration from various real-life characters he comes across in the course of his daily life. Many of the comedians in the industry charge huge sums, as much as `15 lakh per day. What about him? He laughs, “Sometimes, I don’t even get what is due to me. I am basically very flexible as far as remuneration is concerned.”

But he asserts that he can’t compromise on his footage and comedians do command their due respect in Tamil films.

Currently the actor is busy with half a dozen films, including Vijay’s Velayudham, Etthan, Puli Vesham and Sadugudu.
